Azraels Armoury Upgrade Options Explained

We here at Azraels Armoury have started to offer upgrades on all our AEG blasters. These upgrades range in capabilities and price to suit every customer. We have been offering this in store since we opened however we wanted to open this up to online customers as well and as such we have simplified the offering into various stages as described below. All options can be chosen in each gel blaster product page. From Stage 2+ you can provide us with your desired rate of fire and feet per second which we will adjust the motor, gears and spring to suit your requirements.

Examples of some of our builds

Factory Retune 

For maximum reliability every AEG gearbox should be tuned.

Unfortunately, factory assembly staff are not able to perfectly tune gears for correct alignment and meshing, pistons are not set to the correct angle of engagement (AOE) with the gear.

Our factory retune includes:

-Gearbox Radius
-Gears re-shimmed
-Gears correctly greased
-Sorbo pad add to cylinder head
-Angle of engagement corrected
-Viton o-ring installed and lubricated
-Motor Height adjusted and loctited

This service pays for our technicians to open the gearbox, re-shim the gears, add a sorbo pad and correct AOE of the piston, plus we will radius the front internal corners of the cylinder housing to greatly extend the life span of the cast metal gearbox. 

Radius cuts are a vital part of any cast metal gearbox build.  Rounding off a sharp 90-degree inner apex of a corner removes the fracture point that is a vital part of engineering design and massively reduces the chance of the gearbox cracking.

This service does not cover a comprehensive gearbox build that may take a few hours to complete.  This is a tune up of factory parts for massively improving reliability from standard. 

Stage 1 Upgrade

The stage 1 upgrade to our blasters includes the following;

1. All factory retune items plus;
2. APACHE Tappetless cylinder head
3. Aztech Adjustable T-Piece
4. Aztech Stainless Steel Barrel
5. Aztech high precision shim kit

This upgrade includes all the reliability upgrades from the factory retune but also include the installation of;

1. the Aztech Innovations APACHE tappetless cylinder head which increases reliability of your blaster, FPS consistency and also makes quite a difference to the sound of your blaster (about 120dB).
2. The adjustable T-piece ensures perfect feeding and sealing.
3. The Aztech stainless steel barrel has a 7.3mm inner diameter and is highly polished to increase velocity and accuracy
4. The Aztech high precision shim kit enables the technicians to shim the gears to perfection meaning your gears will last longer and your blaster will also sound better with less mechanical gear noise.

Stage 2 Upgrade

This upgrade builds upon the previous upgrade packages but also includes the supply and installation of the following;

1. SHS hardened gear set
2. Aztech Xtreme Nylon Piston and CNC head
3. Aztech CNC Gearbox
4. Aztech CNC Xtreme Trigger

What do these upgrades mean?

1. The SHS gear set uses a much harder material and will last a very long time.
2. The Aztech piston is a lightweight and more durable polymer piston body with very large air ports on the piston head to ensure a perfect seal
3. The Aztech split gearbox uses a very hard 7075 grade alloy with a split design meaning this gearbox will not break regardless of how trigger happy you are. The split design also means servicing is much simpler given you can service the compression stage of the gearbox separately to the lower assembly housing the gears.
4. The Xtreme speed trigger which has pre and post travel adjustments so you can have a very sensitive trigger that also stops travel after the switch has made contact ensuring no “dead space”.

Stage 3 Upgrade

This upgrade builds upon the previous upgrade packages but also includes the supply and installation of the following;

1. Warhead Brushless motor
2. Gate Aster Optical Mosfet

What do these upgrades mean?

1. The Warhead brushless motor is a very reliable motor that draws much less power than a conventional brushed motor that also runs much cooler than a traditional motor. Your batteries will last much longer and the torque of this motor means you will have a much faster shot response from each trigger pull.
2. The Gate Aster mosfet has many benefits including;
   1. Protection against battery reverse polarity
   2. Gelblaster ready with electric mag terminals wired in from the factory
   3. Proximity trigger sensor which offers even 250 possible sensitivity settings
   4. Option to configure its main settings simply via trigger or completely through GATE Control Station app for Android, Windows and macOS (also for iOS in 2020 after Bluetooth® adapter release) requires Gate link 
   5. Built-in RGB led makes programming easier
   6. Removing of safety lever is not required
   7. No modification of gearbox shell needed
   8. Optical gear cam sensor supports all types of gears: Infinite Torque-up, DSG, SSG, 19-tooth and standard
   9. Binary trigger function as basic function
   10. Premium level functionality at fair price – extremely profitable price-performance ratio
   11. GCS app allows for making firmware updates via the internet, which enables improvements
